Chief Patrons Message

The year 2009 marks the centenary year of Loreto Convent, Shillong following the 400th Year of the 'Founding vision of Mary Ward in 1609. It is an honour to serve as a Loreto Sister during this important year in Loreto Shillong history.

Through the years, Loreto has been served bya series of dedicated teachers, lay and religious; their commitment, care and hard work has made our school what it is today!

Over the past hundred years, some of the finest young minds have been moulded at Loreto, who enrich their professions with a high degree of competence and intiatives as well as prepare them spiritually to face responsibilities in society with confidence.

We are delighted to have our Alumnae members from all over the world, each one generously giving her time and talents.

I take this opportunity to honour their boundless commitment and support to the school in making Loreto, the wonderful school that it is!
