Minutes of Meeting held on Saturday the 6th of Dec 2008.
With the close of the year, the gathering on the noon was declared as the last gathering of the committee members for the year 2008 and the following discussions and resolutions were made.
- It was resolved that an extensive Membership Fee Collecting Campaign for Alumni members would be organized by holding a General Body Meeting for all members on the 10th of Jan 2009 at 1.00 PM in the Loreto school hall. This message would be passed across to all members and the same would be advertised on Newspapers and local TV channels.
- It was resolved that a collection for Centenary Participation Fee for members attending the Centenary Function would be initiated in the month of March 2009. Only Paid members will be granted entry for the Centenary Functions. ID Cards would be issued to all paid members with an attached passport size photo for the occasion.
- A projected Budget estimate for the Centenary Celebrations from the Alumnae was worked out and presented to the members present for discussion. (The same has been enclosed as an Annexure along with the Minutes of this meeting for a wider circulation)
- It was decided that the details of the Alumni Get Together Evening Cum Dinner to be held exclusively for Alumnae Members & to be hosted outside the school premises would be pursued by the Event Management Committee Members with support from the all the Office bearers of LAAS.
- It was decided that a Guest Book would be introduced in the website by Candida where alumnae members could post centenary messages and the collective messages would be on display to all on the Alumnae Day of the Centenary Functions (chartered out on May 20th 2009).
- A link will also be provided for Alumnae Members to send in their profiles and photographs so that they may be compiled for display to all on the Alumnae Day of the Centenary (chartered out on May 20th 2009).
- It was suggested that during the Centenary function, flags of different countries could be erected in the school premises to mark and map the support of Alumnae members for the Centenary of the school from all over the world.
- It was decided that Josephine Thanglura would take up the work of doing the Banner to be displayed for the Centenary with the International logo for the Loreto Institutes as the Central Emblem.
- It was decided that Jenny Nampui and Rula Baruah would take up the responsibility for pursuing Online banking for the Alumnae SBI Bank Account in Dhankheti.
- Sister Ponnama, Patron LAAS, reaffirmed that a gathering and a Dinner will be hosted on the last day of the Centenary in the school premises for all the school children, present + retired staff members (teaching+ non teaching) , alumnae members and the Sisters of the Loreto Institutes.
- The Meeting was concluded by a Vote of thanks from the President of LAAS, Jennie Nampui , who urged the members to be united & look ahead in the coming months of the New Year towards greater co-ordination in working for the success of the Centenary Celebrations.
Seasons greetings were exchanged.
Date of next meeting : The Annual General Meeting for ALL members on Saturday the 10th of January 2009, at 1.00 PM in the school premises.
( In the Minutes of the Meeting held on 29th Nov 2008, the following points were missed out to be included.
- The Souvenir Committee of LAAS decided to hand over all the work regarding the Magazine to the school authorities. An amount of Rs 5000/- was returned to the Alumnae along with receipt books and letter heads which had been given to the committee at the onset for necessary work.
- Henceforth the Souvenir Committee of LAAS would just forward the articles posted by the Alumnae Members to the school authorities for inclusion in the magazine.
- The Alumnae Souvenir Committee members would assist the School authorities in bringing out the Souvenir Magazine in all possible ways as
