On the 5th of September 2009, members of the LAAS executive committee met with Sr. Antoinette, Mother Provincial, of Loreto in India.

During the meet, Mother congratulated the Loreto Alumnae Association Shillong for helping make the centenary celebrations a success. She was informed by the LAAS members that a DVD about the centenary celebrations had been made, and approval for the release of the same was sought. We are pleased to inform, that Mother provincial has given her approval for its release. (date of release will be announced shortly). Approval was also sought for implementation of post centenary projects namely

1. To sponsor guidance for an under privileged young, gifted/talented music student, to further develop their musical abilities. This guidance will be provided by  Ms.Pauline Warjri, LAAS core member, noted musician and composer in the North East India.

2. To organise in coordination with the school authorities, a vocational training camp for the under privileged, unemployed youths.

3. LAAS members to provide  personal grooming, dining ettiqutte, and personal development lessons to the Class X students of Loreto Convent Shillong.

4. To provide 2 years sponsorship in the form of school books, school fees to a meritorious under privileged student, on completion of class X board exams.

Mother Provincial expressed her desire to establish a global Loreto Alumni network,whereby Loreto Alumni Associations across the world would come  under one umbrella, under the guidance of a Loreto sister.

The meeting ended with tea and light refreshments.
