Report 21-03-2009 LAAS Guwahati Chapter
The LCites of Guwahati ranging from 1969 to 1986 batches got together in the same bonhomie of yester years, shared in the corridors of Loreto Shillong, on the banks of the Brahmaputra river, in the home of Nilakshi Barua, who played a perfect host with her delicious home baked apple cakes !Though the Agenda was to discuss the centenary celebrations in May, it took quite an effort on my part to bring focus, as there was no room once the chatting started on catching up with the past ! To site an instance, when the form filling got started, and we were fishing for which House one belonged to in school - there was a new discovery - we heard names like Frederich, Paul &........which were alien to us. We were more familiar with Nehru, Naidu, Gandhi & Tagore ! Then Mitra Phukan, thinking aloud said “ My neurons are painfully coming together alive again !"
It was a refreshing evening that set the ball rolling for new beginnings of the Assam Chapter of LAAS. For those who missed it check out the pics of the Guwahati lot of LCites. Assuring you of meeting soon once again !
