ARRIVALS will therefore be on 2nd and DEPARTURES - 5th evening or 6th.
ACCOMODATION:
Delhi, of course, has a wide range of hotels and guest houses.
We have zeroed on 2 places taking into account Delhi's chaotic traffic and also safety.
Our preference is the INTERNATIONAL YOUTH HOSTEL which is ideally located in Chanakyapuri - the diplomatic enclave.
It has 35 rooms. Each room has two beds w/attached bath. A third bed can be added on extra payment. The rooms are very basic, but also equipped with AC and TV. Bed and Bath linen are changed every day.
Room Rent is Rs.2,200/- per day and Rs.700/- for extra bed. By the way, this comes with Bed Tea!
A Membership Fee of Rs.50/- per person is also charged (valid for 28 days).
There is also a restuarant on the premises.
The Ashoka Hotel is close by, as also other restuarants and shopping.
It is also located opposite the Police Station of the area.
The second is the India International Centre next to the sylvan surroundings of the Lodhi Gardens.
Double Room rent here is Rs.3,700/- plus Rs.386/- for Temporary Membership.
Single Room is for Rs.2000/- plus Rs,386/- (TM)
No Breakfast included. There is a restuarant, but if you get a room in the Annexe and not in the main building, then you will have to walk quite a bit to get there.
Our main purpose is to keep everyone together as much as possible, because transportation then becomes saner.
Some of you may be able to stay with relatives or friends. Just let us know where you are - address and contact nos.
Some may want even cheaper rooms or 5* rooms, but you may land up paying more for transport as Delhi is so scattered. We have been advised to Book NOW or as early as possible, because December is also the Tourist season. So please write and confirm ASAP whether you can join the Reunion Bash and whether you want the Bookings made.
Once we have an idea of numbers, I can block some rooms, for which we will have to pay 50% Advance.
Those who want to travel to other places, please be directly in touch with my Travel Agent :Mr.Pankaj - routemakers@vsnl,com and payments can be made directly to him. He can set up programmes for Kerala, Goa, Rajasthan - whereever you want within your budget. Please give my reference as he is already aware about our December programme.
He can even do your flight ticketing. In any case bulk transport will be by him
You will also have to let us know your travel plans - flight/train schedules for Pick-ups and Dropping.
Regarding REGISTRATION FEE we have now decided that it will be Rs.1,500/- per person and Rs.2,000/- per couple in case you will be travelling with your spouse.
We will try to raise funds from Donors and Sponsors. We will be bringing out a Brochure giving the background and history of Loreto and LCS and background info about Pauline and her Group. Here we will be asking for Advertisements - schedule, I shall keep for another mail. Should anyone have some interesting photos, maybe we could include that. Also, a line or two about your LCS experience.
All you need to do just now is to confirm your accommodation preferences so that we can at least act on that.
